Name: Juhana Länttä

Birth: 17.05.1985

Instrument: Something with six strings in it.

Influences: Slash, Nuno Bettencourt, Paul Gilbert, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Andy Timmons. Those are propably the ones that have had a REALLY big influence on my playing. Then there are thousands of players whom I have stolen an idea or another. And the reason that i wanted to play guitar in the first place, was a scene in the movie back to the future, where Marty Mcfly is playing Johnny B. Goode!

Other bands: Darker Grounds, Paperitähdet + some other projects.

Music:

Music I like: – Well played high energy rock n roll with a punk edge, mixed with all sorts of influences from different music styles. At least most of the albums I really like seem to fall in to that category. Of course I’ve listened and learned a lot from many different styles, but somehow i always end up listening to something that is more or less punk influenced.

Music I hate: – The Doors in a nutshell: Sex, drugs and music that makes me want to kill myself. Also 90% of the stuff that comes out from MTV/voice/etc. seems to be a good enough reason to throw the whole television out of the window. And breaking up with your girlfriend is also a great way to find new music to hate! That’s because after the break up, you naturally hate everything that she has ever liked.

Best album ever: -

• Green Day – Dookie (this is where it all began in 1995..)
• Senteced – Frozen (this is the album that opened my eyes for heavier stuff)
• Metallica – Master of puppets (a primer for “how to play heavy metal with a guitar”)
• Guns n’ Roses – Appetite for destruction (and this is the album that made me realize what kind of music I want to play -> well played rock n’ roll with high level of energy)
• Extreme – Pornograffitti (Mostly because of Nuno Bettencourt. In my opinion he’s one of those rare guitar virtuosos that can actually make really great music instead of something that sounds like a finger exercise.)
• The Heartburns – Fucked up in a bad way (Mainly because everything i have to say about year 2010 is said on this album.)

Best song ever: – Changes daily. Today it seems to be Slash’s Snakepit – Serial Killer

Best gig ever: – Hardcore Superstar at Rockperry in 2007 was pretty great. It was also an epic moment to witness AC/DC at olympic stadion in 2009.
